Housing Guide

Housing is a new feature added in Police Week 2026 for Project 12 by Cinnamon X (CinnamonSoftware). This guide covers how to access, purchase, decorate, and manage your safe house inside the city. Housing was introduced alongside the new wanted system, jail system, robbery system, and new gun store during Police Week 2026 — read the Latest Patch for verified timestamps and the Live Status for current population data.

Play: Project 12 on Roblox.

What housing adds to the city

Before Police Week 2026, Project 12 was a street-only experience — your session ended when you left the server. Housing adds a personal space inside the city where you can store and organize items purchased from the gun store and bank store, decorate walls and furniture with items unlocked through gameplay, invite friends to your safe house for private gatherings, and respawn at your home after being arrested through the new jail system. Housing is optional. The street loop — police patrol or civilian jobs — remains the core experience. But for players who want a home base between sessions, housing adds a new dimension to progression.

How to access housing

After the Police Week 2026 update, a housing option appears in the main menu or spawn menu. Look for a house icon in the HUD or pause menu, a real estate NPC somewhere in the city (confirm location in your client — UI labels can shift), and a prompt to purchase your first safe house when you have enough cash. If you do not see housing options yet, confirm the place Updated timestamp and re-join a fresh server. Features introduced in updates can take a server restart to propagate.

Purchasing your first home

Housing has a cash cost. The exact price tier depends on the size and location inside the city. General guidance: first, accumulate cash through civilian jobs (Make Money, Civilian Jobs) or successful patrol bonuses (Become Police). Second, check the housing menu for available properties in your price range. Third, select a property that fits your play style — downtown locations cost more but offer convenience. Fourth, confirm the purchase and receive a home portal or teleport option in your inventory. Do not buy housing on your first session. Run the free loop first (Getting Started, How to Play) so you know whether you want to commit cash to a home base.

Decorating your safe house

Once you own a property, a decoration menu lets you place furniture on walls and floors, display weapons or items as trophies, customize colors and themes, and arrange storage for quick access during sessions. Decoration items unlock through gameplay milestones or the store. Confirm what is available in your current client — store inventory changes after updates.

Inviting friends

Housing supports multiplayer visits. Open the housing menu and select Invite or Friends, choose friends from your Roblox friend list who are currently online, and they receive an invite to teleport to your safe house. VIP servers are still disabled (Private Servers), so all visits happen on public shards — friends must be in the same server instance. This is useful for coordinating before a job run or decompressing after a long police shift.

Housing and the jail system

Police Week 2026 introduced a new jail system alongside housing. When you are arrested, you now respawn at your home instead of a generic spawn point. This connects housing to the criminal loop. If you play the civilian or criminal path (Civilian / Criminal, Crime and Heat), your home becomes your recovery point after arrests. If you play police (Become Police, Arrests and Chases), housing does not grant immunity — arrests still lead to jail and the new respawn system.

Housing and the robbery system

Police Week 2026 also added a new robbery system. This may allow other players to attempt to rob your safe house while you are away. Counter-measures: lock your doors through the housing menu when leaving, set a security system if the feature is available in your tier, and do not store more value than you can afford to lose — the city is still a multiplayer space.

Relationship to other Police Week 2026 features

Housing did not arrive alone. Police Week 2026 brought the new wanted system affecting how police track and engage criminals, the new arrested system and jail for respawning at home after arrest, the new robbery system allowing other players to attempt safe house robbery, the new gun store and bank store with more items to spend cash on or display, and the new housing personal safe house added to the city. All of these affect how you spend time between street sessions. Read the Police Path Tier List for how the wanted system changes patrol strategy, and Jobs Tier List for how robbery risk affects cash storage decisions.

When to buy housing

Housing is a mid-to-late game purchase. Suggested prerequisites: at least five completed civilian job cycles or three patrol shifts, enough cash that losing the purchase price would not hurt your next session, a confirmed play pattern — you return to the same server type regularly, and friends you coordinate with who also want a shared meeting point. Do not buy housing because a guide tells you to. Confirm it fits your session rhythm first.

Housing adds a home base to a street-first city. Use it as a tool for longer-term play — not a replacement for the patrol and job loops that make Project 12 work.
