Project 12 RP, Voice, and Chat Habits

City RP dies when voice and chat become a second job. Searchers want Project 12 voice chat, RP rules, how to roleplay, and toxic cops. In-character versus out-of-character

In-character (IC): chases, arrests, jobs, crime heat, emergencies — the dual fantasy the place sells. Out-of-character (OOC): “hold on my dog,” “that was a misclick,” “I’m new — where is role select?”

Good tables:

• IC conflict stays IC — no real slurs, no doxxing, no targeting kids with adult content
• OOC needs are short and clear, then return to the scene or leave
• If someone says they are done with a scene, stop — that is consent, not “failing RP”

Voice chat

Roblox voice availability depends on account settings and region — confirm in the Roblox client, not a Discord rumor. If voice is on:

• Assume mixed ages; keep cop/criminal theater PG-13 unless the whole lobby clearly opted into something else (they usually have not)
• Do not scream over dispatch-like callouts; Emergencies needs the location once, not a monologue
• Officers: power fantasy is composure (Become Police). Civilians: crime is a dial (Crime and Heat), not a license to harass

If voice is off, text is enough. Project 12 does not require a headset to patrol or work a job.

Police scenes

• Identify the target before the lecture (Arrests and Chases)
• “Chief” in voice is theater unless the HUD agrees (Police Ranks)
• Paid guns are not a personality (Weapons)
• Stacking eight cars on one ping is bad coverage, not good RP

Street scenes

• Job grinders did not queue for your montage — give space on Make Money routes
• If you start crime, expect officers; that is the game working
• Do not mix OOC insults with IC robbery; that is just toxicity with a ski mask

Chat scams disguised as RP

• “Officer whitelist in my VIP server” — VIP is off (Private Servers)
• “Free AK if you friend me” — Store only (Game Passes)
• “Codes in bio” — Codes Hub still empty
• Script files from “staff” — Scripts Hub

Leaving is a valid tactic

With 40 strangers and a 12-minute average session, hopping is normal. You do not owe a toxic duo your evening. Busy Servers already says disengage. Etiquette adds: mute, report in Roblox if needed, queue again.

3. One OOC safety rule (no links, no scripts)
4. Hard stop while fun remains (Starter Checklist)

After patches

UI and voice bubbles can move (Latest Patch). Re-learn mute/report locations. Likes (~1910 / 2000) do not rewrite manners (Likes Milestone).
